Portland's Independent Telecom Broker

ITG Group has been Portland, Oregon's independent telecom & IT advisory firm for more than two decades. Local relationships, Pacific Northwest roots, and ~20% average savings for our clients.

Portland-born telecom advisory

ITG Group was founded in 2001 in Portland, Oregon by John and Lauretta, both of whom started their careers in Pacific Northwest telecom during the Pacific Northwest Bell / US West era. For 25+ years we've been the independent telecom broker of choice for Portland businesses — from single-location professional services firms in the Pearl District to multi-site retailers with 80+ locations across Oregon and Washington.

Being local matters. It means we know which carriers actually show up when there's a problem at a Clackamas County warehouse, which SD-WAN vendors have meaningful presence at the Hillsboro data centers, and which fiber builds are lit at your specific address. It also means we can meet with you face to face — which still matters to a lot of our clients even in a remote-first world.

Portland Metro areas we serve

We work with businesses across the Portland Metro and greater Willamette Valley, including:

We also support clients statewide across Oregon and Washington, and maintain active engagements nationwide — telecom advisory is a relationship business with carriers, and those relationships don't stop at a city line.

Local carrier landscape

Portland's telecom market is dominated by a handful of major carriers plus a thriving ecosystem of regional providers. We work across all of them, including Ziply Fiber, Comcast Business, Spectrum Business, Lumen, AT&T Business, Verizon Business, Zayo, Rogue Broadband, Integra (now Allstream), and many others. For cloud and colocation, we work with local data centers including the Pittock Building, the Westin Building extension, QTS / Hillsboro, and the Aldrich & Compass facilities.

What a Portland engagement looks like

A typical first engagement with a Portland client runs roughly like this:

  1. Intro call — 30 minutes, video or in person at your office or ours. We learn what you have, what's frustrating, and what the goals are.
  2. Audit — We collect a couple months of invoices and walk line by line through your carrier stack. Roughly two weeks for a mid-market business.
  3. Findings meeting — We come back with a written report covering billing errors, retired services, over-market pricing, and any contract or compliance issues we found.
  4. Plan — Together we decide what to act on. Sometimes that's renegotiating in place, sometimes it's a carrier switch, sometimes it's standing up a new service.
  5. Execution — ITG runs the sourcing, contract negotiation, and implementation on your behalf. You stay in the loop but don't have to run it.
  6. Ongoing management — After go-live, we stay on as your long-term carrier team. Renewals, MACs, new site rollouts, invoice monitoring, re-audits every few years.
