What the calculator is doing under the hood:
- Base requirements: Each application has a per-user or per-device bandwidth weight (video conferencing: 3 Mbps per user; VoIP: 0.1 Mbps per line, etc.)
- Work model adjustment: Hybrid teams use 70% of the calculated bandwidth (fewer people in office); remote teams use 50%
- Peak modifier: If you selected "specific meetings/events," we add a 30% buffer for spike demand
- Safety buffer: The recommended bandwidth includes a 40% buffer for growth, new applications, and peak load overlap
- Plan tier matching: We suggest a carrier tier (100 Mbps, 500 Mbps, 1 Gbps, or multi-gig) that exceeds your recommended bandwidth
